Private corporation’s goal is to extract every penny of profit from the market they compete in. Profit is the number one goal. Maximizing it. And then every year increasing it.
Other democracies have done the right thing. They’ve determined that their healthcare systems should provide for the health and well-being of their citizens, not the profits of our providers. Later complications caused us to sell off our property to pay the hospital.
What about COBRA? When you have a very limited income from your wife’s job, paying 110% of your insurance is a non-starter.

You see, all of this is American history. Mysteriously…it’s not often taught is American schools. An HO3 is the common policy for Homeowners coverage, and it always includes coverage for the dwelling, other structures on the premises, coverage for personal property, loss of use, and personal liability.
Many sample policies and forms are available online via company websites. There are also ISO forms available for commercial policies, and most companies use those standardized forms as the basis of their commercial policies.
I find that most agents are geeks about insurance (myself included,) and are happy to answer questions and provide forms and sample policies, but the fact is that Google can probably get you what you are looking for.
AmFam is not the leader in technology when it comes to insurance companies. They are often the last to the game with things like mobile apps, direct deposit for claim payment and other hot insurance upgrades.
But the company is very forward-thinking. They plan extensively for the future, considering changes that will be occurring with automotive technology, etc.
Additionally, American family makes excellent investments. In many years, the company makes more from its investments than it does from premiums and deductibles.
Over the last couple of years, American Family has completely gotten rid of its in house built claim management system and is now using a system that is employed by all other major insurance companies. The system has become far more streamlined, and upper management is constantly monitoring and making changes as need be.
Approximately three years ago the company adopted Lean Culture, and tries to eliminate waste, particularly in time, throughout all levels of the company.
American family is an ethical company. They teach all of us to pay what we owe as quickly as possible. There is no behind the scenes dishonesty, we are never told to deny claims or look for reasons to deny claims. In fact, we are told to look for coverage that customers may not know that they have.
I am sure that there are many more reasons that American family has been in business for nearly a hundred years. But from my observations, these are certainly the standouts.
